Patong Beach

Patong Beach Thailand

Located on the Andaman Sea coast of Thailand’s Phuket Island, Patong Beach is a vibrant city with a lively nightlife and food culture.

Patong Beach’s sandy coastline is home to the eponymous crescent-shaped beach bustling with sunbathers, swimmers, vendors and all manner of watersport operators. You can try parasailing, jet-skiing and windsurfing here or even hire a boat to take you to other beaches in the vicinity. Bars and restaurants line this palm and coconut tree-fringed beach, where you’ll find a lip-smacking variety of Thai and global food to snack on. Just a short drive away from Patong Beach is Freedom Beach, which offers a quieter and less crowded experience alongside clear waters that are ideal for snorkelling. Tri Trang and Kailm are other popular beaches to visit nearby.

For a taste of Patong Beach’s famous nightlife, head to Bangla Road or Paradise Complex. Come sundown, Bangla Road turns into a pedestrian-only street, with rooftop bars, discotheques, go-go bars and street performers vying for your attention. Paradise Complex features LGBTQ+-friendly entertainment venues, including drag shows, gay bars, cabaret and more.

After a day at the beach or a night out on the town, savour some delicious street food at Bangla Road. From authentic Thai dishes to popular international cuisine, this street has something to suit every palate. Tuck into a steaming bowl of noodles or rice, fresh seafood, crepes or fried chicken and wash it all down with a glass of fresh juice or a local alcoholic drink.
