Maceio Brazil

Maceió is the capital and largest city in the Brazilian coastal state of Alagoas. This quaint seaside destination offers breathtaking beaches and a buzzing dining scene without the bustling crowds. If all you need for a holiday is a little peace and scenes of gorgeous beaches, Maceió is the perfect pick.

As soon as you can, head out to Maceió’s beaches. You'll discover scenes of emerald-blue waters and white beaches featuring lush palms and pastel-coloured boats. Some of the best beaches include Praia de Pajucara, Praia de Ipioca and Ponta Verde Beach, where you can relax and take in the views of the Atlantic Ocean.

There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained in Maceió. During the day, make sure you visit the Historical and Geographical Institute of Alagoas for a little culture. You can also visit the outdoor markets at Pajuçara Beach and Pontal da Barra to discover a range of works by local artists. At night, follow the beachfront path to lively restaurants and bars, where some of the best Brazilian music is played well into the early hours of the morning.
